The Upper Mustang Trek (17 Days) takes you deep into the ancient and secluded Himalayan region of Mustang, once a part of the Tibetan kingdom and still retaining its timeless charm. Hidden behind the majestic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, Upper Mustang offers trekkers a journey through a landscape of wind-eroded cliffs, hidden caves, and centuries-old monasteries.
The adventure begins in Kathmandu, where you’ll explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites before heading to Pokhara, the scenic gateway to the Annapurnas. A short flight takes you to Jomsom, from where the real trekking experience begins.
Over the next several days, you’ll pass through remote villages like Kagbeni, Chele, Geling, and Charang, before reaching the fabled walled city of Lo-Manthang — the cultural heart of Upper Mustang. Here, you’ll explore Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar Village, meeting locals who still live in the traditional Tibetan way.
The return journey retraces through equally enchanting landscapes, with a visit to Muktinath Temple — one of Nepal’s most sacred pilgrimage sites — before flying back from Jomsom to Pokhara and onward to Kathmandu for a farewell dinner.
